Indiana - March 18, 2013

Things out here are going great! You know, I bet that you could send the package to my address here, Elder Syrett's stuff has been just fine, so I wouldn't worry about it.  Before I just wasn't use to the crazy lifestyle that is here in the area of Richmond that we live in, but it's not bad enough for people to mess with other people's stuff. It sounds like through the craziness there at home that things are going well, with the Jens and the javelin, that sounds way awesome!  There are some members here that are heavily involved with track (distance), and I told them that I might just show up and practice with them, but my companion wont let me. I really miss track, I just want to be out running competitively again. But I'll survive, missionary work will keep me plenty busy. A cool story though, our new Zone leader, Elder Bert, came to Richmond (he was trained here) and we went around to people he knew, and one of his converts was way out of town and owns a Dairy farm, he is a really cool guy and probably the only active recent convert I know around here. But anyways, he is an amazing guy, very close to the spirit, not quite as much as dad, but it was really nice to have someone out here that made me feel closer to home. And I am supper excited, if I can convince my companion, we might go out and milk cows every other week for some service. Yeah, I finally will be able to be around some cows again :) But yeah, it is really good here, the work is having a rough go, but things are good! I hope every one gets well soon and fast! It is so great to hear from you. I love you so very much, I can't even find the words to describe it! Love you all!

Indiana - March 11, 2013

One transfer down; well, one shortened transfer down, I had one less week of training than the regular program gets, so unfair huh? Haha, just kidding, I am right on track with my training, as Elder Syrett says, but IDK, but anyways, it will be all good. So how is the life back home with all that is going on? Is everyone feeling better yet? I've been praying for all of you! How are my animals? Is dad getting help with taking care of everything, or do I need to lay some smack down on Jens?  Well, here we have had several good days of winter - 7 inches of snow, one day of spring yesterday, and woke up to rain this morning. So the weather is not very similar to that in Utah. Along with that, I sure hope that the summer is able to clear up the skies  here, I have only had like 4 or 5 days that haven't been completely cloud covered. But I have been doing really good, so don't worry! We were able to teach a really cool family a couple of times this week, and that was really amazing! God is really out there blessing His children and answering their prayers. It is not an official family yet, but they are planing to get married, which is way exciting because not very many people here get married, it's crazy. But anyways, between the both of them there are 9 kids running around and they range from 12 years old on down, so yeah, crazy! I guess the most crazy part is that Melissa is 27 and John is 21, but I know that they are striving to do what is right, that why God put us in their path. She was having a really bad day, and she just looked up and there we were two guys on bikes.  She said that at that time she really needed something, and we where right there. John wasn't even going to let us in because he has a hard time with how God lets so much bad happen in the world, but he explained that he really felt the spirit while we taught about the restoration. We just met Melissa's mom, and she told us that we were an answer to her prayers for her daughter! It is so amazing! I love being out here and making myself available to be where I need to be to let God use me to accomplish his work! I hope all is well at home, and that we are all able to see God's blessings. I love you mom so much, and love all of you!

Mom!!!
I love Mondays when I finally get to hear from you! It's the best few min.s of the week. Sorry, the instant spell check thing didn't work with how I was trying to spell min.s,  I'm glad to have that! It has probably made it so you can actually read what I am trying to get from my mind through these keys onto the screen. But anyways, things are great here in Richmond, IN. The Conference was absolutely amazing, the spirit was so strong and comforted a lot of the feelings that I have been dealing with lately. Yeah, remember little Jade that was scared to death just to knock on the neighbor's door? Yeah, this Elder Grover still is working to overcome little stuff like that. But it is even scarier when my companion keeps telling me that I will be training a greenie just after I finish up my training! Yeah, that is just a little scary.  I sure hope that God knows that it would be really hard for me, and doesn't tell President Collins that I'm ready.  But anyways, I felt better in the conference. I don't know why because Elder Ballard told us all that we have to be seasoned missionaries, even us that just came in a month ago, but the spirit told me that I will be able to do everything I am supposed to do as I trust in the Lord. But anyways, things sound like they have went well at home. My brother Jesse being home and all, and my little brother going to prom and everything, this is crazy! I hope they are taking care of you for all you do for us! Mom, I love you so very much, always remember that I do! Things are good here, I feel the prayers, and I see God's hand in everything that I do! It's crazy, you know how you hear that when investigators get close to baptism, Satan really gives it to them rough? Yeah, it happens. Grahm Selm, our brother that had a date coming up, well, he won't make that date. He is moving and it's all very complicated. He still wants to get baptized, but things have been rough and he can't do it right now. But we asked him to pray about it, and the spirit tells me he will be baptized very soon. There has been a lot of miracles that we have seen as God tries to tell his children that the way to him is through the gospel  that we are sharing. Dad, I got your letter, thank you so much! I miss you all and love you all so very much!

Oh, and Mom, thank you so very much for sending my coat, I was so excited to get that package! You are the best in the world! Thank you for sending the medicine and my ring, it actually fits really well on my middle finger, so you shouldn't have to worry too much about that! But I will take very good care of my coat, it has already been through a trip and my not end up finding me again. What a miracle! And what a blessing to have the most wonderful mother in the world! Love you Mom!!!

Good-bye Cal-Sac - February 25, 2013

Dear Family!

I am so excited to see you all this week. But you are right, I am so sad to leave here. I am so lost right now, I feel like I am leaving my closest friends and there is a part of me being left here. I honestly love it here so much. I am so grateful to have been called here, I would not have changed my mission call for all the money in the world. This Church is so true and our Prophet and Apostles are called of God because they, through God, put me here in this little tiny mission in the middle of California and I love it with all my heart. I always knew this day would come, but I guess I didn't understand how it would feel to leave, and I honestly know it will only get worse when I get on the plane and leave this blessed land :) But I know that it has to happen and thank goodness for Facebook and stuff to be able to communicate with all my extended family here. But I love you and I am excited to see you all, but sad news is I will be getting on the plane and coming back, haha, Just Kidding! Well, at lest not right away, haha :)

The baptisms went okay, I say okay because only 1 happened..... Tina got baptized and it was awesome, I will send you pictures, jk, I will show them to you when I get home. The good news is that Ashlee is getting baptized today, she decided to throw me through a roller coaster and wait until the last minute, but non-the-less, my last night she will be getting baptized, so we are excited. I went to dinner with Uncle Bruce, and he is helping fellowship this awesome investigator we have named Keith Bradford (Keith is getting baptized March 16th, and we found him just last week - he accepted baptism on the first visit!).

Well, I love you all and I will see you late on Thursday. I love you!!
