Guatemala - September 27, 2010

Hey Familia!
I'm great here in Mazate. We have changes today at night time, so we will see if I have another 6 weeks here in Mazate or not. I like it here, the weather has been rain and rain and more rain, so we usually walk around really wet. It's not real warm yet, but when the rain stops in November, oh yes, it will get hot! I have not gotten any information or dates on leaving - nada. So if anything happens there, you will be the first to know. No worries though; I have not thought much about leaving, I guess when it gets closer I will start thinking about it. Time does go by super fast, I did not even feel September, but I try not to think about the time, just the investigators and elders. The zone has been doing really, really good! I love them and hope the best for each one. As a mission we baptized 113 this month and are now focusing on families. So how's the missionary experiences going on the home front? We always need to be praying for these opportunities and then acting on them. We never know when God is going to put a family in our hands. Tell Dad to take care wherever he goes! I love you all! Thanks for everything!
Ya'll take care.

Guatemala - September 20, 2010

Hey, it sounds great that everyone is good. I can't lie, I don't like bad news, but I do like to know what is going on, so keep me updated. But it sounds like all is good and everyone is heavily involved, that is really neat. I hope that the activities go very well for each of you. So my life has been great, I can't lie, the Lord has bless me abundantly. This week we had several meetings with the Elder Martino Area Presidency and wow, I have learned a lot and hope to keep putting this stuff into practice. As the pictures show, the family got baptized; what a neat experience! And the wedding, the part that was interesting was the dinner, we had elegant cow tongue dinner, it is a fancy food, and I actually like it a lot. The cake is always lots of fun. Now we need to dig deeper into the work and focus on the families. I love the work! Take good care of yourselves, okay! Love ya'll!

Guatemala - September 13, 2010

How is everyone? I just like to close my eyes and thank the good Lord every day for his tender mercies. So Dad, I want to tell you that I love you and hope that you get feeling better quickly, but we have to find a more secure way of keeping this from happening again. What do you think you can do to be more ready? Remember the answers will come, but you have to look in the right places like the Book of Mormon and words of the Latter-day Prophets, patriarchal blessings and personal prayer. I honestly can't explain the great feeling of peace and tranquility that I feel in my heart. I know my God loves me and has mercy on me, he knows my needs, as well as the needs of all of his children. I testify that He is the Great Master of the earth and heavens and He has the power to control everything. He has shown much love for our family and I thank him and bear my solemn witness in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
So I am fine here in Mazate, trying to find the way to make all things work. But this week we have a planned wedding and baptism of a family. Anival and Aura have had missionaries for years, ever since their two daughters were baptized three years ago, but in that time their other two children died. One was killed as a police officer and the other was receiving the missionary discussions when an illness caught her and she was not able to be baptized. The problem has been the wedding, but I guess the Lord knows when it is the time to touch our hearts and lead us. Read Ezekiel 34:11-16, he knows his sheep and will make the way for them. I love this work, and I know God is guiding it. I just wish I could have more faith and work harder, not for me, but for the people here. The work continues:)
Thanks to all the family for all your prayers and love! Take care, I love you all!

Guatemala - August 30, 2010

Wow, the Grover family is off and going into the fall and all the activityies that come with it. Sounds like there was no change from the busy summer to the begining of school, and it will just keep on going and going. But I'm very pleased to hear that everyone is very involved in something, the prophets have said that the latter-day saints have to be an example for the world in all that we do. I also like how there is a divers choice of activities; it seems like here the world revolves around soccer. :) But we are all great! Exited to work really hard and to make this month an amazing one. We have so much going on in the ward and stake, and I'm just trying to keep up :) I do have good health, thanks to the bishop and his food; but just not growing a whole lot:) But I'm happy; we found a brother the other day, he is a really cool man. He reminds me of you Dad, kind of a rough around the edges, but very in tune to the spirit. He has had his religion his whole life, but you can see that there is something he is looking for. He came to church on Sunday and really liked it even though he was sick. His name is Simon; his wife left him and all the kids; he has 4 girls and 1 boy. A really amazing man. I hope that we can work very hard and well with the spirit to help him understand and receive his testimony. Realmente, I am so grateful for the Gospel and for the great opportunity to share it. Thanks Mom and family for all that you do; Love y'all much!
